民俗学の刀根さんからのお便り
2019年の2月に木曜午餐会で「民俗学って、なーに？」を講演して下さった刀根卓代様から、日本への帰国後も、民俗学と短歌で大活躍している様子が、このほど木曜午餐会のメンバーに送られてきましたので、皆様にもお知らせいたします。

大橋英夫のイーストウエストセンター滞在中には、私儀刀根卓代が、大変お世話になりました。
お陰様にて、刀根は木曜午餐会にてお話させていただく機会を頂きました。
改めて、お礼申します。
また、ハワイに居ります時に、短歌の方で、近藤芳美賞にも入選し、帰国しました後に、所属結社「かりん」の力作賞も頂戴いたしました。
その後は、短歌の商業誌（書店で売っている）にも掲載してもらえるようになりました。
民俗学の方では、2本の論文を学会誌に掲載してもらいました。
多くの御縁に感謝致します。

We returned to Tokyo in March 2019 after finishing a half-year sabbatical leave at the East West Center in Hawaii.
On arriving in Tokyo, we left our dreamy life in Hawaii and were immersed in ordinary life in Tokyo.
Hideo was asked again to join some study groups of government and industrial organizations, and resumed current analysis of the Chinese economy, paying attention to the Sino-American relations.
Takuyo is dedicated to researching Tanka (traditional thirty-one syllabled verse) and folklore. After winning the Tanka Society's Masterpiece Award, she was given the opportunity to publish Tanka in commercial magazines. She also finished two papers on Japanese immigrants in Hawaii.
